HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA – Madison Core Laboratories, LLC (MCL) announces the appointment of Jeff Wisotzkey, Ph.D., HCLD, CC, as Chief Scientific Officer and Laboratory Director. Dr. Wisotzkey brings to MCL over 25 years of experience in scientific leadership and laboratory operations in multiple areas including Molecular Diagnostics, Chemistry/Immunochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, and Toxicology.

In his new role, which is in line with the Company’s strategic planning efforts, Dr. Wisotzkey will oversee all MCL’s scientific and clinical development, including the execution of clinical laboratory activities and regulatory affairs. He will also provide strategic and tactical input for research and development opportunities. Dr. Wisotzkey will be based at MCL’s corporate office and laboratory site in Huntsville, AL.

Dr. Wisotzkey’s most recently held the position of Chief Scientific Officer for Phase2 Labs in Nashville, TN. At Phase2, he was responsible for building out the Lab’s molecular detection and characterization technologies via qPCR and NGS, in addition to serological analysis, flow cytometry and other diagnostic laboratory modalities. Phase 2 Labs is a large acute and chronic respiratory disease-focused laboratory. Previously he served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Clinical Laboratory Director for Diatherix-Eurofins, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Dr. Wisotzkey received his doctoral degree in molecular biology from the University of Houston in molecular biology, and he completed postdoctoral training at Pennsylvania State University’s Hershey Medical Center. He is a board-certified High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) and Clinical Consultant (CC).

During his career, Dr. Wisotzkey has held senior positions with clinical laboratories including Clinical Laboratory Director and Chief Scientific Officer, Health Network Laboratories in Allentown, PA; Vice President, Molecular Pathology and Laboratory Director, Genomind, King of Prussia, PA; Director. Molecular Pathology and Technical Director of Laboratory Operations, Central PA Alliance Laboratory, York, PA; and Technical Director, Molecular Diagnostics and Research, York Hospital, York, PA. He has also served on numerous professional advisory boards and industry committees.
