Employee Benefits

Insurance

Health Insurance – MCL teams with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama to provide a health insurance program for employees.

Includes prescription drug benefits.
MCL pays 70% of the monthly premium for employee only coverage and 60% of the monthly premium for employee/family coverage.

Dental Insurance – MCL provides dental care through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.

2 dental plan options.
Child Orthodontics are available.
MCL pays 70% of the monthly.

Vision Insurance – MCL offers a VSP Platinum Vision Insurance Plan that helps save money on eye exams, eyeglasses, and contact lenses.

MCL pays 50% of the monthly.

Life insurance – An employer-paid term life insurance coverage equal to 1x your salary, up to a maximum of $50,000 is provided to eligible employees.

Fully paid for by MCL.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D) –

AD&D benefits are provided at an amount that matches the Basic Life insurance amount.
Additional benefits are available for accidental injuries such as loss of limbs, fingers, or sight.
Fully paid for by MCL.

Short-term Disability Insurance – MCL provides Short-Term Disability Insurance through Sun Life.

Replaces a portion of income if unable to work because of a covered disability.
60% of weekly earnings up to $1,000 a week.
Fully paid for by MCL.

Long-term Disability Insurance – MCL also provides Long-Term Disability Insurance through Sun Life to all eligible employees.

Replaces a portion of income if unable to work because of a covered disability.
60% of salary up to $5,000 a month.
Fully paid for by MCL.

Time Away from Work

Holidays – Employees have six (6) paid holidays each year. The holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Employees earn from 10 to 20 days of paid time off annually, depending upon the length of service and position level.

Bereavement Leave – Employees may take up to 3 days (24 hours) of paid leave in the event of a death of an immediate family member.

401(k) Plan with Match

MCL’s retirement plan matches 100% of contributions on the first 3% deferred, then 50% of contributions from 3% to 5%.

18 years old and 12 months of service eligibility requirements.

Employee Discounts Available – MCL employees can take advantage of exclusive savings provided through the Company’s supply chain partner, Provista.
